I have been looking at Microsoft CRM and reading newsgroup posts. MSCRM has a lot going for it but has a couple of major flaws. The first is the lack of a feature to generate letters from within the CRM application. It is possible to do this with Email but most SME users will still rely heavily upon traditional written letters to send to contacts and accounts. Since the basic processes are incorporated in the mailmerge feature I can't understand why the developers have not gone the extra mile and allowed the document generation for single users. Anyone should look at SalesOutlook to see how it should be implemented.

Overview

The SalesOutlook Certified Partner Program is not for everyone.  It is not an affiliate program like those popular among .com companies.  The SalesOutlook Certified Partner Program is more closely related to the Value-Added Reseller Programs popular with other technology vendors such as Siebel, Pivotal, SalesLogix, GoldMine, HP/Compaq, Microsoft Business Solutions and others.  

 

In order to become a SalesOutlook Certified Partner, your application must be approved by SalesOutlook, Inc. and all Certified Partner Program Fees must be paid.  These fees are then used to provide you with SalesOutlook, Inc. software for internal use and for Partner Training and Certification.  

 

Once you and/or your organization achieves Certified Partner status, you will receive a generous discount on all SalesOutlook products and the services you purchase from us.  This enables you to make money on the sale of our technology products and services, even if you don't provide the services!

 

Qualification Guidelines

Because our customers want to work with quality, knowledgeable professionals who are both trustworthy and reliable, SalesOutlook carefully screens Certified Partner Program applications to find those few needles in a very large haystack.  The few organizations that "make the cut" demonstrate the ability, expertise, caring and track record today's customers demand.

 

Only organizations showing a strong desire to sell CRM software products and services and that can demonstrate the capability and dedication to deliver quality solutions in an honest, reliable manner will be selected as SalesOutlook Certified Partners.

 

Some of the general guidelines we use to evaluate Certified Partner Program applications are listed below to give you an idea of what traits and characteristics SalesOutlook Certified Partners possess:

Solution-Oriented Individuals and Organizations - Customers are not interested in the technical details of our products and services as much as they are in the solutions they bring to business issues.  Customers demand solutions -- not products, not services and especially not excuses.

Outstanding Reputation for Quality Services and Solutions - SalesOutlook customers pay for value.  They pay for the value of SalesOutlook's products and services, and they pay for the value of the services offered by our Certified Partners.  In order to qualify, candidates must provide verifiable references that will attest to the quality and level of service provided by the candidate organization.

Sale and Delivery of Technology Products and/or Professional Services - We look for organizations that earn revenue by selling and delivering high-quality technology products and consulting services.  Services provided do not necessarily have to be directly relating to CRM technology.  Many management consultants, application hosting providers, OEMs and technology system integrators are ideal candidates to become SalesOutlook Certified Partners.

Ability to Influence Organizations Using Microsoft Technology - SalesOutlook's products and services are focused on organizations embracing Microsoft's technology solutions. Therefore, candidates demonstrating a strong degree of influence over organizations using Microsoft technology are preferred.

Willingness to Build a Profitable SalesOutlook CRM Practice - It takes time and financial resources to build a successful business (and to build successful sales and services channels). SalesOutlook, Inc. is investing its captial and resources into the SalesOutlook Certified Partner Network, and we expect the same go-getter attitude from our Certified Partners.  In order to be selected as a SalesOutlook Certified Partner, candidates must make an annual investment toward actively marketing and promoting SalesOutlook products as they define in their quarterly business and marketing plan.

Demonstrate Expertise or Willingness to Gain Required Expertise - SalesOutlook customers deserve only the best.  By ensuring that SalesOutlook Certified Partners possess or are willing to obtain the required knowledge, proficiency, and expertise with our products (along with the supporting Microsoft software they rely upon) our mutual customers can feel secure in their SalesOutlook CRM investment.  Preferably, SalesOutlook Certified Partners offer expertise with Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange (including OWA), Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Outlook) along with VB / VBScript / JavaScript / COM / WebDAV / XML / MAPI / CDO programming skills.  Skills with Microsoft .NET is also preferable.  Substantial knowledge of CRM strategies, business processes and project management are required.

Reputation for Honesty and Integrity - SalesOutlook Certified Partners represent our company and its products and services to the general market, and we will only allow individuals and organizations known for fair business practices, honesty and integrity to represent us.  All Candidates to be Certified in the SalesOutlook Certified Partner Program are required to submit 5 professional references that will attest to the business practices and general reputation of the candidate and his/her organization.
